Sakana Sushi Bar & Cuisine @ Penang Road, Georgetown.

Sakana, a restaurant which i think most penangites familiar with for its location ( intersection of Penang Road and Campbell Street ) but not everyone had tried it. For those who had tried Sakana might never return again as i can see a lot of bad reviews since they starts operating a year ago.

Stepping into a brand new year, they are giving a change and improvement.
Starts from 1st of April 2014, they had role out new menu, improved their management and collaborate with new chef. It shows how committed the restaurant management is in running a truly service oriented restaurant; not only that they listened to all those negative feedback but they accepted it and improve everything. So why not give them another chance to make up for their wrong and serve you better? As for those who haven't tried it is definitely worth to give them a go with all these revamp.

That is why we are invited by Sakana through Tour Directions for this food review.

Deluxe Assorted Roasted Sushi - Rm40
A very simple, clean and straight to the point dish. Sliced sashimi lightly seared for a perfect thin layer on the outside while still remaining soft and raw in the middle. Perfect combination that taste pretty delicious for those that are undecided to go raw or well done. Best still for those first timer on sashimi.

Deluxe Sashimi - Rm55
This is so tempting and hardly able to resist when it is served on table. A very appetizing dish for its freshness and juiciness. Didn't get to try it all but salmon is definatily my first choice. The thickness of the Salmon is just perfect for my liking, in fact those sashimi were sliced generously!

Sakana Special Maki - Rm22

Sakana Aburi Maki - Rm20
For me, the Salmon Aburi Maki is more appealing compared to the Sakana Special Maki, Maybe i'm a salmon lover but no doubt their salmon is the best afterall.

Unagi Tosamaki - Rm22
Can't really taste the unagi, the only thing i can taste is a mixture of ingredients and sprinkled of Dashi flake.

Watana Gani Salad - Rm18
This is something you will die for. I think every one of us love this very much as i can see a lot of smiling faces looking very satisfied. It's a combination of soft shell crabs and salmon skin, pair with a refreshing sesame sauce. I bet you won't stop munching after the first bite.

Butaniku Enoki Maki - Rm14
It's Enoki! My all time favourite, wrapped in slices of lean pork! Not bad thou. The moisture of  the enoki and tenderness of the lean pork were so yummylicious :)

Kamo Teriyaki -Rm18
Don't have the chance to taste this as when i returned to my place from photo shoot, the plate was already empty! LOL. Guess it was too delectable!

Salmon Teppanyaki - Rm20
Slightly dissapointed for this dish. A little less succesfull when I think the chef might want to add in a little twist by adding ginger as one of the ingredient but it tasted oddly. Salmon were overcooked too.

Kansei Chaban - Rm13
This is a rather ordinary fried rice for me, still lack of some 'uummphh' and 'wok hei'.

Yaki Soba - Rm15
This Yaki Soba which consist of generous ingredient of shrimp, fish and squid with some sprinkled of Dashi flake couldn't satisfied me enough. Perhaps, the sweetness is a little overwhelming.

The reason one might pull back from visiting is because of the parking spaces as Sakana is located along the  busy road where it is almost impossible for you to find a carpark.
But don't freak out, Sakana is providing FREE Carpark for their customer.
